Take the pain out of posting to stock footage agencies.

I have recently started to use a service called Black Box Global to take some of the pain out of posting to stock footage agencies.

What Black Box Global do is allow you to upload your footage the there site and they take care of offering it to Shutterstock, Pond 5, Adobe Stock and Story Blocks currently but be sure many more will in time be added to the list.

They also allow you to collaborate with other members to complete tasks like editing and keywording on your behalf for a percentage of the sales all managed on the Black Box Global member portal, a percentage of a sale is much better than 100% of no sales.

The only downside is your footage is posted under the Black Box Global name and not your own.

On the plus side Black Box Global sells a ridiculous amount of images and so qualifies for a higher percentage on the stock footage sites so this goes a long way to covering the small fee they take for the service.

One piece of advice I hear a lot is

"shot what no one else can, everyone can shoot grass and trees."

So with this in mind I decided to make a series of videos showing how my partially amputated index finger does not stop me from doing normal things and how I have adapted to normal life, something I never thought I would do at the time of my accident.

The title of each video starts with "Male with a partially amputated index finger on his right hand" followed by the action I am undertaking.

Actions included in the series currently are buttoning up a shirt, opening a jar, tieing a shoelace, writing a todo list, peeling a potato, tieing a tie, cutting up a potato with many many more to follow.

At the time of this blog I have 19 videos in this series online with many more to follow.

Here are a few examples
